The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Bureau of Standards (SVGBS), in collaboration with the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ), will be hosting a seminar on Conformity Assessment and the Regional Quality Infrastructure on Monday, July 28th 2014 at the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (3rd Floor Financial complex) from 8:30 a.m.
This seminar is being implemented by the CROSQ as part of the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) component of the 10th European Development Fund (EDF)-CRIP-EPA-TBT Programme. This Programme seeks to build capacity in order to progress towards achieving a modern regional and national quality infrastructure (QI) consistent with internationally-recognised principles for international trade as defined in the WTO-TBT Agreement as well as the TBT Chapter of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
The aims of this seminar are to sensitize stakeholders on the importance of conformity online assessment and to obtain inputs for the development of a Regional Conformity Assessment framework, as well as to present the Draft CROSQ Regional Policy for Quality Infrastructure for discussion and obtain feedback to facilitate the finalization of the QI Policy.
The seminar will be facilitated by Messrs. Trumel Redmond and Fulgence St. Prix, Technical Officers at the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality based in Barbados.
