The International Organization for Standardization’s Technical Committee for Service Excellence will be hosted in Barbados from 10th to 13th February 2025 to continue the development of various service excellence standards. This committee of experts aims to continue developing international standards on service excellence to establish minimum global benchmarks, with Barbados actively participating as a member to ensure our competitiveness in setting these standards.
As part of the schedule of events, on 11th February 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. the BNSI will be facilitating a Service Excellence workshop where the international experts will be sharing with local stakeholders, details of how service excellence can be achieved. They will venture into the design and development excellent services in the private and public sectors and also treat to digital services as well. The standards that will be presented and discussed include the following:
- ISO 23592 – Service excellence – Principles & Model
- ISO FDIS 11- Service excellence — Principles and model for public service organizations.
- ISO/TS 24082:2021 – Service excellence — Designing excellent service to achieve outstanding customer experiences.
- ISO/WD TS 19384 Service Excellence – Guidelines for application of digital approaches to achieve Service Excellence.
As service excellence is significant to our macroeconomics and the service economy, the BNSI stakeholder engagement will seek to:
- Bring awareness of the requirements of the service excellence standards under development;
- Increase public knowledge of the service excellence model and standards being worked on by the ISO/TC 312 Service in Excellence;
- Enhance stakeholder knowledge of and access to available tools to promote and improve excellent service delivery; and
- Afford participants an opportunity to purchase and use the existing service excellence standards.
