The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) has a new Executive Director.
Dr. Velton Gooden was appointed by the Standards Council of the BSJ, through Chairman, Phillip Armstrong, effective June 01, 2021.
Dr. Gooden has had a long-standing career in the fields of quality assurance and quality management; he brings to the post a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is a certified food scientist and management consultant.
Dr. Gooden is regarded as a strategic thinker and result driven professional. This, Mr. Armstrong said, along with his experience and expertise, augurs well for his expected contribution to the BSJ as the organization continues to evolve as a facilitator of industry, and not as a regulator.
